Blair's Own Banana Skin

Latest from the Chilcott Enqury:

Blair - ‘If Saddam had fully disclosed his weapons development programme he could have completely avoided military invasion’.

Questioner – ‘But we now know there was no programme, was there...’.

So the only way Saddam could have avoided war would have been to lie – and say he did have a programme!

Ooopps..

Blair went on to justify the decision by saying that ‘Saddam’ had an intention of restarting a programme – so the war was still justified.

Ok. So under International law it is entirely reasonable for one country to invade another because it’s leader is having ‘bad thoughts’ about another.

Madness.
