A friend of mine works in her local infant school in Guildford as a teaching assistant. She was telling me that they have so many teaching assistants that in the class that she works in they have four! - eh?

We all know that people who work in schools have to be CRB checked and that schools take great care to ensure that the kids are not exposed to any dangers.

So I was amazed to hear that her School headmistress recently decided, having a seemingly unlimited pot of funds, to add a new subject to the curriculum. Which is.. wait for it...

Massage.

Yes really. The kids now have and do massage.

It would seem the head is not too bothered about teaching basic reading, writing and maths skills - she is more of a touchy feely type.
